Somewhere to go
Familiar schools, community rooms and neighbourhood spaces kept open, active and welcoming beyond the school day.
Stockport-born · community-built · established 2019
ACE grew from Bridgehall and Adswood to give people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Its work spans affordable activity for the whole community and SEND learning shaped by parents.

Delivery status
This site documents work ACE has delivered and the learning it produced. Programmes and support routes for the next phase are proposals until dates, capacity, safeguards and funding are confirmed.

The community promise
Familiar schools, community rooms and neighbourhood spaces kept open, active and welcoming beyond the school day.
Football, netball, youth clubs, gymnastics, cheerleading, yoga, singing, musical theatre, play, food and family events without pricing local people out.
Relationships across ages made activity a doorway into friendship, confidence, safety, advice and the ordinary support neighbours give one another.
Give a hand up
ACE is testing proposed sponsorship routes for a child’s bursary place, a 12-week SEND Superstars cohort and an anchor-patron model. No programme or payment is live until delivery and governance checks are complete.
Discuss a support routeThe original ACE model
Bridgehall and Adswood had people, energy, skills and spaces. ACE’s job was to connect them.
From 2019, affordable activity brought children, adults and families into familiar venues. Local people volunteered, trained and led. A low-cost membership model aimed to keep opportunity open while building income beyond grants.

Parent-led test & learnOne important chapter · ACE Inclusive
ACE developed a SEND offer with families, Bridgehall Primary and specialist insight from Seashell. The public record describes trust with more than 60 SEND pupils, a 15-child Saturday pilot and a four-stage method for learning, inclusion and provider support.
Invited into the Sport England-funded, GM Moving-led Stockport Local Pilot.
Official SLA partner, contributing community SEND learning alongside the wider system.
The work, properly represented
Universal activity, SEND inclusion, holiday delivery, respite, volunteering, information infrastructure and influence across the place all form part of one evolving model.
