BECOME A
PATRON

If you want to help shape and support the work we do to enable communities to make positive changes we all want to see then become a Patron.

By offering financial support and/or your time, energy, expertise and contacts you’ll secure a place on our Advisory Committee with leaders from the private and VCSE sectors who share a common goal of improving health and wellbeing through the provision of movement, activity and play.

This is a great opportunity for successful Stockport based organisations and individuals from or living in the region to invest in some of the most poorly resourced communities across the borough. You will witness, first hand, the difference your support will make. As a genuine member of the ACE family you will help drive ACE forward. As well as a variety of co-designed branding and marketing opportunities, all Patrons and Advisors meet quarterly to share ideas, review progress and gain a clear understanding of the outcomes that their support enables us to achieve.

Current ACE Patron Organisations include:

Govconnect - One of the UK's leading providers of key policy information to the public sector on all current and future Health agendas.

The Freestyle Collective - The Freestyle Collective is a group of academic, professional, amateur, youth and less able participants combined with specialist placemakers, designers, architects and builders of non-competitive movement places. Their goal is to break stereotypes and lower barriers to entry in physical activities to increase social cohesion and improve physical and mental health.

Why Sports Media Group Ltd - One of the UK's leading providers of key policy information to the government, sport and leisure sectors.

Collective Aims:

  • Creating healthy and potentially life changing behaviours and improved physical literacy from early years through to adult age ranges across Stockport's lower socio-economic wards.

  • Utilising partner and business funding to break down social barriers, tackle health inequalities and reduce the associated stigmas related to active lifestyles.

  • Developing volunteering networks and workforces, through the provision of skills and qualifications that help create rewarding roles and future proof the sustainability of ACE zones.

  • Creating a supportive Advisory Committee that enables and supports the allocation of funded places and enhanced facilities to lower socio economic communities and institutions who would otherwise be unable to do so.

  • To play a leading role in assisting the GM Moving and SMBC Active Communities Strategy, in meeting its targets and contributing towards the national Childhood Obesity reduction targets by 2030.
